Lone Tree Elementary is not an assigned school to the Heritage Hills neighborhood. However, it is adjacent to Heritage Hills, and many families choose to enroll here.
Lone Tree Elementary is Douglas County's second elementary magnet school, and it is the first to use the Highly Effective Teaching (HET) instructional model. The school was designed to provide an innovative educational program for students in Douglas County using experiential, hands-on learning with real-world problem-solving activities. The HET instructional model supports teachers as they create safe, enriched learning environments, write meaningful curricula based on real locations in our community; plan lessons and inquiries with the multiple intelligences of their students in mind, and use movement and music to enhance learning. Another aspect of our innovative school design is our MicroSociety (R) called Mane Meadows, a community created by children as a microcosm of the real world inside the schoolhouse.
