Lone Tree is making a great effort in making the city more pedestrian and bike friendly. It is planned to rework Yosemite Street from Lincoln Avenue north to Park Meadows Drive and parts of RidgeGate Parkway (including the two roundabouts) in order to incorporate dedicated bicycle lanes this summer.
The planned bicycle lanes are going to be five to six feet wide and will extend into turn lanes wherever possible. This project is part of the city’s Walk and Wheel plan, which will make Lone Tree more pedestrian friendly. Adding these lanes to Lincoln will prove to be complicated though, because the street is pretty narrow in some parts and very heavily traveled.
Another planned project is a 10 feet wide trail along Lincoln which will be dedicated to dog walkers, families with strollers and slower bicyclists.
