The Colorado Department of Transportation made the announcement that more lanes will be added to I-25 between Lincoln Avenue and County Line Road to improve traffic patterns. It was revealed that one lane in each direction will be added to have a total of four lanes for that section of I-25. Also, the asphalt on the old lanes will be replaced with newer concrete to match with the new lanes. This $32 million project, which is funded by CDOT, Douglas County, the City of Lone Tree, and the Denver Regional Council Governments, should be completed by June 2016.
During construction, three lanes of traffic will be provided for travelers in each direction except for night work, fast-track concrete work, and major traffic shifts. Even though the rainy May weather has interrupted the construction, progress on the on-ramps was still made and the completion date should not be affected.
