It was announced yesterday on June 23, 2016 by Peter Niederman, Kentwood Real Estate's chief executive officer, to an all company gathering at the Cable Center at Denver University that HomeServices of America, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, has acquired Kentwood Real Estate and its affiliated rental and commercial businesses.
“We’ve been the leading brokerage in the Denver market for many years and this transaction makes us an even stronger organization,” said Niederman. “Joining the HomeServices family of companies creates exciting opportunities for continued growth as we serve the real estate needs of new and existing clients throughout Denver.” Day to day operations will go on as usual as the company name, signs, business cards, etc. will stay the same. The company will continue to be locally operated and all management personnel will stay in place.
Kentwood Real Estate has three offices in the Denver Technological Center, Cherry Creek, and in lower downtown Denver with over 200 agents. Kentwood earned the No.1 ranking in Colorado and the No.3 ranking nationally for the highest average volume sold per agent and closed nearly 4,500 transactions representing close to $2.4 billion of volume in 2015.
