According to U.S. News & World Denver is the #1 place to live in the entire US because of a healthy job market, cost of living and desirability to live. Colorado Springs also made it on the list, being the 5th most desirable place to live. U.S. News & World based this survey, which includes 100 large metro areas on the following aspects:

    • Value of living, e.g. home ownership versus renting

    • Quality of life, e.g. crime rates, affordability of health care and education and commute times

    • Job market health, including average salaries and unemployment rates

    • Desire to live there

    • Number of people moving there

The date used for this report stems from the U.S Census Bureau, the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Gallup-Healthways well-being index, the FBI Uniform Crime Report and U.S. News & World Report's "Best High Schools" and "Best Hospitals" reports, as well as polling from Internet users.
